Cargo Hold Cleaning

Remote-controlled cleaning for cargo hold steelwork.

Cargo holds have high walls, corners and structural details that can be difficult to clean between voyages. Reaching these areas often involves temporary access and close manual work around water, residues and confined spaces. Time spent preparing access can affect the turnaround of the vessel. A cargo-hold cleaning robot provides a remote-operated approach to treating suitable steel surfaces while the operator supervises the work away from the immediate cleaning zone. A semi-automatic hydroblasting unit and the appropriate UHP pump can be considered as part of the wider equipment plan where the application calls for them. The intended result is more consistent coverage of accessible areas and less direct exposure for personnel, without claiming that every surface can be reached robotically. Hold geometry, residues, access, water management and the cleaning objective are reviewed before a configuration is recommended.
